Every student engagement follows the same four-step process. Here is what that actually looks like in a real session.
We Start With Your Research, Not Our Script
Before we touch any data, we understand your research question, your design, and what you are actually trying to find out. The methodology decisions we make together will be specific to your study — not a template applied to your data.
We Choose the Method Together — and Explain Why
We don't just run a test and hand you the output. We explain which statistical method fits your data type, your research question and your sample — and why the alternatives would not be appropriate. You will be able to explain this to your supervisor because you were part of the decision.
We Interpret Results in Your Language
Statistical software produces output that can look intimidating. We translate every table, every p-value and every coefficient into plain language — and more importantly, into the language of your specific research. What does this mean for your hypothesis? What does it say about your data? Those are the questions we answer together.
We Prepare You to Defend Your Work
Your viva, your presentation, your supervisor meeting — these require you to own your methodology. We walk through the questions you are likely to face, help you articulate your reasoning, and make sure you leave our session genuinely confident in what you did and why. Not rehearsed. Confident.
Our Position on Academic Integrity
We think this matters enough to say clearly.
DATiiQ operates as a statistical coaching and education service. Our model is straightforward: we work with you, not for you.
Every Finnish university and university of applied sciences operates under the Finnish Code of Conduct for Research Integrity (TENK 2023), which requires that academic work reflects the genuine intellectual contribution of the student. We fully support this principle — and our entire methodology is built around it.
Working with a statistics tutor, an analytical consultant, or a private coach is a normal and accepted part of academic life. What is not acceptable is submitting work you did not understand or could not replicate.
DATiiQ sits firmly in the first category. You will understand your analysis. You will be able to replicate your decisions. You will know why every choice was made. That is the point.

The Overwhelmed but Motivated Student
You have collected your data. You know roughly what you are looking for. But SPSS output leaves you confused and your supervisor is not a statistician either. You want someone to explain it properly so you can move forward with confidence.
The International Student
Statistics is hard enough in your first language. Working through quantitative methods in a second or third language adds a layer of challenge that has nothing to do with your intelligence or commitment. We work through everything at your pace, in clear English, until it genuinely makes sense.
